This weeks lecture started with a small recap on last weeks lecture. We looked at patterns within an arrangement of elements.
Examples

We also learned about the humble line and how it can be used. An example of this would be the ‘HP’ logo since it is just four lines placed in a way to make it look like letter ‘HP’.

Lines can also be used to record data or create diagrams because they can show different results. This is very interesting because there are so many different meaning behind using a line which means there is a lot of different possibilities.
Then we learned about the humble plane which is the usage of different elements to create the illusion of a 2D shape.
Josef Muller Brockmann was a graphic Designer from Switzerland. He was famous for using grid based designs.

Wim Crouwel was a graphic designer and typography from Netherlands who also used grids for his designs. He’s mostly known for his design of the ‘New Alphabet’.

The Vitruvian Man was created by Leonardo Da Vinci which symbolises the perfect human proportions.

Golden Ratio is used to make the elements of a design look more pleasing and neater because it would look more appealing and engaging to the audience.

The next project we worked on was drawing nine boxes, the first three has two points, the next three has three lines and the last three has nine planes.
